Memories:Philippines past life by bentez Memories:Philippines past life by bentez
this about Philippines past life.
relationships of other country.

before and during WW2

China, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia: they used to trade alot with Philippines. They continuously trade until Spain came.

Spain: He colonized Philippines for 333 years. He also let her trade with Mexico, which makes the Philippines and Mexico into good relationship. (yeah, The galleon trade) Spain, eventually, abuses Philippines as time goes by. He also brought Catholicism and westernism to the country, making it the most westernized nation in Asia. After Jose Rizal died, Philippine's rebellions increased rapidly. Until America came to "buy" Philippines from Spaniards.

Mexico: Philippine's most trusted friend during colonization with Spain. They made a hearty relationship due to Galleon trade which brought prosperity to for both sides. After Mexico gained independence, Philippines And Mexico were banned from trading. Mexico, then, wants to send revolutionaries to the Philippines since Spaniards increased in the Phil. Although Philippines rejected the idea of revolutionary war, Mexico then stated that he'll wait until Philippine's gain independence, and that'll brought back to their relationship once again. Sad though, America butts in, which prevents Mexico and Philippines to trade again.

America: He came to the Philippines and saw that they were colonized by Spaniards. The Spaniards wants to sell Philippines to America and they agreed to make some sort of staged fight. At first, Philippines hates him, although she was grateful to be freed from Spaniards. There was a conflict between them due to misunderstanding and this brought them to war. After America-Philippines war, America wanted to teach Philippines their language, and wanted to become an independent country before they leave. When Philippines almost gain her independence ,Japan invaded Philippines, thus, keeping Philippine's independence on hold. America left for awhile, with a promise "I Shall Return". They did came back, although war was almost over, Philippines almost defeated Japan, and that America helped once again. Oh and their Independence Day would've been the same since the American president wanted to but the Philippines wanted their own date for independence. America for July 4 and for Philippines, June12.

UK: UK (somewhat) made Philippines rebellious to Spain. But because of Treaty of Paris, Spain owns Philippines once again. They colonize Philippines (Manila and Cebu) for 3years and gave it back to Spain afterwards.

Japan: He invaded Philippines, his former trading buddy during WW2. They killed a lot of filipinos, steal women and rape, stole foods, puppet government and etc. Let's not forget the Death March, making the prisoners walk around miles away under the heat of the sun. After 6 year war was over, Philippines finally gained independence.

Germany: He planned to take over Philippines if America didn't want it. But the Americans wouldn't give Philippines to Germany, since it will give them the advantage to bring China down.

Australia: It was not only American who helped the war in the Philippines, but also Australians (and few Mexicans). Australians were also part of the major role in pacific (and parts of Africa).

----
Modern Days!
America: Philippines visits him very often to bring money for her children. In return, Philippines helped them during Cold War and War on Terror.

South Korea: He visits Philippines to learn English language. After few years, Philippines and South Korea established Friendship Festival wherein their friendship would be celebrated every once a year.

Germany: Germany visits Philippines (or should we say Cebu and Palawan, I just saw a Germany flag sticking on the beach) often to take a nice beach break.

Japan: Years have past, Japan is known for exporting cars, gadgets and animes here in the Philippines. Part of Philippines still has a bitter feeling over Japan but most of the time (the young ones) doesn't mind it anymore.

China: still visits Philippines to bring Chinese Merchandises.

Hong Kong: Hong Kong treats Philippines as a maid. Although he can be friendly at times.

Mexico: Known for tacos here. Still visiting there and has fair good relationship, but not as good as during their Galleon trading period. Intense rivalry through boxing!

The church can be found in Ilocos Norte: drjulian.deviantart.com/art/pa….

It's not the church I was looking for to draw. was suppose to be Cathedral's, the one that is near to China town, which is this one: kaiplue.deviantart.com/art/C-A… I also want to draw either of these.. alpreddd.deviantart.com/art/Qu… and alpreddd.deviantart.com/art/Sa… .. but I guess that okay.
